If you're on the fence about this game, maybe because you think it's just a simple hack and slash, or maybe you think it's just another souls like, or for any other reason - I urge you to try it. Mastering the systems is so satisfying (the way I play with a Switchglaive now is a different world compared to when I didn't even know what Flux was, and I'm still improving even now). Nioh isn't like that at all, and the combat is incredibly deep in itself. In many ARPGs, your character can often reach a point where you're just too strong, and can just autopilot your way through anything spamming 1 button. The best part though is you still need to think and interact with the combat in a meaningful way. I feel like I'm endlessly discovering new mechanics and ways of improving my build (didn't know until 150 hours in that you could reroll Demon Scrolls, oops). My character has probably become 10x stronger since I started farming in the Underworld. I thought the game would be finished when I reached Dream of the Nioh but I feel it's basically just beginning. So many things to do, items to farm, interesting crafting, ways to make yourself stronger, things to test your build and skill. Some stuff looks interesting…not sure if I'll change anything though.Īlso raising Dex and Magic above 100 increases the respective capacity again.I had heard that Nioh 2 had a lot going on in the endgame but holy shit people weren't kidding. The Shuriken bonus from the Hayabusa set is hilarious XD Looks like they went for more unique set bonuses and fixed skills this time. They can also drop from enemies, though that seems to be pretty rare (maybe higher chance on Wise/Nioh, played through the content on Demon first) You get Cracked Ochoko cups as Twilight Mission rewards (first clear), means up to 10 per day.

Izuna drop is Sword only, so I guess it technically got 2 skills as well. If you get the 2 Hayabusa skills, they are immediately learned, no skill points required. Lots of Boss battles in general… and they were really keen on missions with NPC allies. Well they did name the Hayabusa Ninja after all, but there is still a Mysterious Samurai to fight. 9 Side missions (and 1 Twilight) so more stuff to go through compared to the previous DLCs. It's 3 proper main missions this time, though the second one is rather short and there is no unique side mission map, but the final mission is probably the longest in the game. They also reduced the duration of all the Dmg X2 and Nullify Dmg buffs, the one after Dash attack is so short that you can't do anything with an Odachi (and probably Axe as well)… Dmg bonus seems to be around 1.5 at least, so still rather significant. I think I actually got most of the interesting changes back then…
